When I get pissed off at someone (justified or not)… it causes me to think, feel & act the wrong way. One of the questions that I try to remember to ask myself when this happens is… “Where have I been inconsiderate?” At first it seemed strange to look for my mistakes when it was the other person that wronged me, but it’s the right thing to do. My mother taught me, when I was about 5, that 2 wrongs don’t make a right. And that means it’s NOT ok to be inconsiderate toward you because you wronged me. The goal for today: stop using the wrong doings of others as an excuse to do wrong myself! Have a great day everybody!

The Right Reaction

One of the stories I tell that is most troubling to people is about turning the other cheek. Once upon a time, I was heavily insulted… & I didn’t have the typical knee jerk reaction. The old me would have felt very hurt… & immediately started working on my retaliatory response. But this day was different. In the split second prior to the knee jerk reaction, the Truth presented itself to me & changed everything. I wasn’t hurt, because what was said wasn’t true. And I didn’t retaliate, because the offender only said it because they were afraid. The goal for today: eliminate hate, hurt, anger & retaliation… with Love, self-esteem, compassion & Truth! Have a great day everybody!

Truth Fixes Fear

We fix fear by acknowledging the Truth. When we get scared, we almost immediately start manufacturing lies; first we lie to ourselves & then we lie to others. Example: fear causes me to assume that people think poorly of me. The truth is that you have no idea what other people are thinking… hell, I don’t know what I’m thinking half the time – lol. People aren’t thinking about you as much as you think they are… & even when they are, they aren’t thinking what you think they are. The goal for today: if you’re living right, keep it up; if you’re living wrong, fix it… & then it won’t matter what anyone thinks. That’s how you fix the fear of public opinion! Have a great day everybody!

Real Kindness

The motive behind what we do is actually more important than the act itself. I spent a lot of time doing the right things, for the wrong reasons & the end result was unhappiness. Most of what we do in our daily lives is based on fear… & fear is a false motive. For example: did you ever smile to someone’s face, but hate them in your heart? And did that pretend kindness make your heart feel good? Of course not! If you want your heart to feel good, you have to demonstrate real kindness. The goal for today: do the Right thing, for the Right reason… because the only path to real happiness is a Pure motive! Have a great day everybody!

Live Inspired

Most of the inspirational writing that I read these days is very fluffy. It’s witty & poetic… but in large part, impractical & unrealistic. It sounds inspiring, but it lacks practical application… & if I can’t actually “do” it, then what good is it. The things I write are simple & practical… they are very real & anyone can do it. These methods aren’t always the easiest to carry out… but they bring guaranteed results. To be truly inspired you must take action & that action must consist of giving love. The goal for today: don’t just be inspired… live inspired! Have a great day everybody!

I frequently hear people say “that’s what works for me”… & I used to be one of those people. Then one day, I stumbled upon some actual facts… you know, the kind that apply to ALL of us. One of those facts said that there is no such thing as a fact that only applies to some people… you can really only call it a fact when it applies to everyone. Daniel Patrick Moynihan once said “Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but not their own facts.” The goal for today: know that if it doesn’t apply to all of us… it shouldn’t be portrayed as a fact! Have a great day everybody!

Positive & Constructive

What consumes your thoughts, consumes your life. We need to learn how to think clearly in the face of troubles. Too often, fear & tension fill our hearts & minds when things go wrong… but fear & tension don’t solve problems. Fear & tension don’t pay bills… fear & tension don’t mend relationships… fear & tension don’t fix anything. If I want to solve my problems, I’ve got to do the opposite. The goal for today: fill my heart & mind with positive, constructive thoughts & actions… because positivity is where every solution begins! Have a great day everybody!
