Look Out For #1

My approach to life used to be “Look out for #1”… but that never brought me any real happiness. The strange thing about selfishness is that it NEVER makes us feel satisfied or fulfilled… even when we get what we “think” we want. You could gain the whole world through looking out for #1, but it will NEVER make you feel the way that looking out for others will. One of the great paradoxes of this life is that unselfishness is the ONLY way to get what we really need. The goal for today: achieve true happiness, peace & freedom by putting the needs of others ahead of your own! Have a great day everybody!

Just Give

“If I love you, what business is it of yours” ~Goethe. One of my favorite quotes! Properly understood, this means that I should not waste time worrying about whether or not people love me… I should stay focused on making sure that I am giving love out freely to others. The great paradox of love is that it always makes the giver feel better than the recipient. But when we forget that fact & complain that we aren’t “getting” enough love from others, we shut ourselves off from the wonderful feelings of love, because the one & only way to truly feel love, is to give it. The goal for today: don’t waste time monitoring the rest of the worlds actions… just make sure you’re doing what’s Right! Have a great day everybody!

Thinking

“What you think upon grows” ~Emmet Fox. For some reason I refused to believe that it could be that simple. If I think about misery, depression & unhappiness… that’s what I get. If I think about peace, contentment & happiness… that’s what I get. So the next time someone or something is troubling you… think about something else. I know you are thinking “easier said than done”… but Right thinking is actually a hell of a lot easier! The goal for today: think Right, feel Right, act Right… in that order! Have a great day everybody!

Get Help… Give Help

Thank God someone helped me… I really needed it.

But getting help will only lift me up temporarily; it’s giving help that will lift me up permanently.

When I get help, I must seize upon that moment to get myself together so I can be helpful to others, because long term, genuine Happiness only comes from giving.

The goal for today: accept a hand up, but never stop there… keep extending that helping hand back out to others, because real Happiness comes from giving!

Have a great day everybody!

Surrounded By Trouble

I go out of my way to surround myself with people who are selfish, resentful, dishonest & afraid.

Why?

Because they are the people that need my help.

It would be selfish of me to throw these troubled souls out of my life so ‘I’ can be at peace.

Actually… my peace comes from helping them.

Their trouble can’t affect me if I’m living the Right way & not allowing them to take advantage of me.

The goal for today: help others become better people… because that’s how we make the world a better place!

Have a great day everybody!

Selfless = Happy

It is impossible to be unhappy without first being selfish.

This is true simply because it would be impossible for me to know that I was unhappy unless of course, I was thinking about myself at that moment.

When I become aware that I am unhappy, I should instantly start looking for someone to help or to care about.

If it’s 3:00am & no ones around… then I should at least ‘think’ about helping others.

The goal for today: have a genuine concern for the welfare of others & be happy!

Have a great day everybody!

Clear, Concise & Consciously Aware

My problems are the result of selfishness, dishonesty resentment & fear.

My solutions are the result of Selflessness, Honesty, Love & Purity.

All life is a paradox!

I can’t help myself, except by helping others…

Admitting that I’ve lied, is Honest…

The only way to stop hate, is with Love…

Fear will cause the things I’m most afraid to happen.

The goal for today: understand the paradox, live in reality & experience Life the way it was intended to be… be clear, concise & consciously aware!

Have a great day everybody!
